MoodleMoot 2016 - Pozvani predavači

Domi Sinclair

DOMI SINCLAIR, Learning Technologist working within the Digital Education Core Services team at University College London (UCL)

Tema: Digital Learning Landscape: How we use Moodle and more to support teaching and learning

This presentation will look at how UCL has developed in its use of e-learning tools, such as Moodle to support staff and students in their education journeys. This includes Moodle integrations of platforms such as Turnitin (for e-assessment), and connections to services such as e-portfolios and lecture capture software. There is a wide variety of tools available, and a diverse way in which different subject areas might utilise them, which means balancing all of this to provide useful centralised support can at times be a challenge. This presentation will explore how these support challenges can be met.

Domi has also presented on the topics of Moodle, Mahara and other e-learning areas at a number of local, national and even international conferences, where she has also participated on panels. Bio: I teach courses of bussiness informatics and e-learning at the Faculty of Management. My research field is closely connected to e-learning. Even though I like IT, I am convinced that It is only a tool and that a teacher or a tutor could never be replaced by technology. The human touch - a real or a virtual one, is still the most important element of the teaching process.

In my spare time I like to be with my family or friends. As I was an athiete in my adolescent years I still like to be on the move. I like cycling, running, swimming, ice-skating...
