The E-learning Centre celebrates 10 years of activity, support to teachers, students and institutions in the higher education in application and implementation of new technologies in the education process.

The Centre was founded based on the decision of the University of Zagreb within the Tempus project EQIBELT (Education Quality Improvement by E-Learning Technology) and officially started in December 2007. The E-learning Centre is established as the focal point at the University of Zagreb for coordination, fostering and development of e-learning activities, being open to the other higher education institutions as well.

Over the years, the E-learning centre has been recognized by teachers and institutions in the higher education and has extended its activities in the application and implementation of e-learning as well as new technologies in education at the national level.

The E-learning Centre team maintains and develops the e-learning platform Merlin providing sustainable, accessible and easy to use virtual environment for more than 8,400 e-courses from higher education institutions. Support to users, especially teachers is one of the E-learning centre’s priorities and is provided through Helpdesk, training courses (classroom and online) and workshops, manuals and animations, individual consultations and joint projects with teachers in development of their courses.
