Hrčak has been validated and registered as a data source on OpenAIRE portal, making articles published on Hrčak also available on the portal. The article visibility is increased as well as the probability of being quoted – a good news for magazine publishers and authors. Hrčak has thus became the fourth repository in Croatia to be included in the OpenAIRE portal, but the only one that is completely following the latest version of guidelines, as described in OpenAIRE Guidelines for Literature Repository Managers 3.0. Since 2006, Hrčak has been implemented with the Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) and providing metadata to WorldCat catalogue, BASE service, and now OpenAIRE portal. It is important to point out that the OAI-PMH interface, used by Hrčak, delivers only metadata of full-text articles, which should additionally motivate editorials to constantly update full-text articles on Hrčak.
