The joint efforts of the European e-infrastructures EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE and the scientific clusters ENVRI-FAIR, EOSC-Life, ESCAPE, PANOSC, SSHOC published a document on 18 September 2020 called EOSC - a tool for enabling Open Science in Europe. The document expresses a common position on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and highlights the necessity to re-orient EOSC activities towards the needs of user communities and gives a clear position on the value of EOSC.
On the occasion of the publication of the document, Tiziana Ferrari, Director of EGI.eu, stated: “Our vision is EOSC which is an inclusive and federal ecosystem based on FAIR data and other open scientific results, integrating many services such as data visualization, analysis and physical storage resources to store and re-use data for open science. We expect EOSC to take up the mandate of providing the resources required for the re-use of data. ” Tiziana Ferrari's article on the strategy of EGI federation members for the upcoming period will be published in a new issue of SRCE Novosti in early October.
