The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) officially launched

Today, on November 23, 2018 in Vienna, Austria, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is officially launched, during an event hosted by the Austrian Presidency of the European Union. The event demonstrates the importance of EOSC for the advancement of research in Europe and introduces the new EOSC Portal.

The EOSC Portal provides access to data, services and resources. It is a source of up-to-date information about the EOSC initiative, including best practices, governance and user stories.

All service providers, research communities and other entities with a stake in EOSC are invited to visit the EOSC Portal and explore how they can benefit from its functionalities.

SRCE is a partner on project EOSC-hub and together with the consortium of 100 partners from more than 50 countries will develop the vision of the Hub as the integration and management system of the European Open Science Cloud.

In November 2018, Ministry of Science and Education appointed Mr Ivan Marić, Deputy Director of University of Zagreb, University Computing Centre (SRCE) as Croatian representative to the EOSC Working Group of the Strategic Configuration of the Horizon 2020 Programme Committee with a mandate to perform tasks of the EOSC Board.
