SRCE experts held presentations about project Croatian scientific and educational cloud (HR-ZOO) and about HPC computational cluster Isabella and HTC Cloud infrastructure at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek, on January 22, 2019.
Dobriša Dobrenić, Assistant Director for Computing and Network Infrastructure held the presentation about strategic project Croatian scientific and educational cloud (HR-ZOO). The main objective of the project is building a core component of the national e-infrastructure. HR-ZOO is recognized as an important prerequisite for the development of the Croatian research and higher education area, as well as a common infrastructure for the needs of modern science and education and internationally relevant research.
Emir Imamagić, Head of Computer Systems Department held the presentation about HPC computational cluster Isabella and HTC Cloud infrastructure. Cluster Isabella consists of 107 worker nodes with 2556 processor cores, 12 GPUs and 756 TiB data space. As a shared resource of all scientists in Croatia, it allows using significant computational resources in demanding data processing of scientific and research projects. HTC Cloud infrastructure provides a more flexible environment than a computational cluster and it allows the launch of virtual servers with operating systems and user services.
