Ivan Marić is the new director of SRCE for the period from 2021 to 2025

After the public tender and the procedure prescribed by the Statute of SRCE, the Supervisory Board of the University Computing Centre SRCE appointed Ivan Marić, B. Sc. ing. Director of University computing centre SRCE, and the Senate of the University of Zagreb (which is also the founder of SRCE and in which it operates as a public institution) confirmed this at the 5th regular electronic session in the 352. academic year (2020/2021) held on January 26 2021.

In the Work and Development Plan of SRCE from 2021 to 2025, on the basis of which he was elected, Ivan Marić, director of SRCE, points out: “SRCE will continue to work to improve its role as a builder of secure and open national e-infrastructure and digital services for the system of science and higher education in the Republic of Croatia, the IT center of the University of Zagreb and an active stakeholder in the European digital space in the next four years. By focusing on building bridges of cooperation with the community and connecting the national educational and scientific space with the international, SRCE will create preconditions for modern science and education based on the principles of openness, interdisciplinarity and cooperation without borders. By upgrading the basic layers of e-infrastructure of computer and storage resources with data and information layer and continuous education and support to users of SRCE's digital services and systems, we will work on strengthening its role as an indispensable partner to leaders and administrations in digital transformation of science and higher education in Croatia. enabling data and information-based decision making. In addition, SRCE will focus its strategic steps on connecting with industry and the public sector in the coming period. "

SRCE's activities in the coming period will be focused on building and managing a common national computer and storage e-infrastructure (HR-ZOO) and continuous development and maintenance of the AAI @ EduHr system as a unique and common system of trust and electronic identities for access to all e-infrastructure components. and ensuring the mobility of students, teachers and researchers. In addition to construction, new models of management and organization of modern national e-infrastructure will be implemented and models of its long-term sustainability will be implemented.
