Multilinguality in ISVU applications

23. 12. 2019.

The Information System of Higher Education (ISVU) has, from the very beginning, supported the recording of part of it's data in several languages, with the recorded data being mostly in Croatian and English. Key data that can be recorded in multiple languages is:

  • Study programmes names
  • Levels of study programmes
  • Academic titles, qualifications, vocations
  • Courses (titles and descriptions), types of classes, elective groups
  • Weekly lesson plans

Based on the above information recorded in English, ISVU supports the generation of the following documents in the English language:

  • Various Certificates of enrollment
  • Diplomas
  • Diploma supplements
  • Final exams and diploma theses

With regard to student mobility (more than 3,750 outbound and incoming mobilities were recorded in the academic year 2018/2019), and the number of students with foreign citizenship (almost 2,700 from more than 80 countries in the academic year 2018/2019), Studomat also offers an English-language user interface for the following functionalities:

  • Log-in
  • Exam options (exam dates, scheduling and canceling of exams, details for scheduled exams, exam timetables for all courses)
  • Surveys

Since the beginning of December this year, Studomat has been offering a user interface in English for the selection of print certificates (which can be in both Croatian and English). For their help in realizing this functionality we are grateful to prof. dr. sc. Martin Lazar, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, Professor Martina Hrnić, and Ms. Sandra Memunić, Head of the International Relations and Research Projects Department at the University of Dubrovnik.
