Webinar: Transitioning to online: Lessons learned for future

Introduction: We’ve made it through the emergency remote teaching phase. What next? This session will discuss some of the ways you can continue to improve on your online teaching practice as you enter the next phase of teaching online, as well as explore opportunities that can be maximized during this phase. Topics will include practical tips and guidance for engaging in this next phase of online teaching from designing your interaction with students and choosing technology to learner support and development. Also students’ perspective how studying functions in times of the Corona Shutdown will be considered. Examples and resources will also be shared, and ample time will be given for answering your questions about online teaching and learning. After introductory presentation, floor for discussion and questions from the audience will be opened. 


Lisa Marie BlaschkeLisa Marie Blaschke, Programme Director, Center of Lifelong Learning (C3L), Oldenburg, Germany

Bio: She is a former executive committee member of the European Distance Education and E-Learning Network (EDEN) and is a Senior EDEN Fellow and Chair of the Board of the EDEN Fellows Council.
She is also a former adjunct associate professor at the University of Maryland University College, where she received the Stanley J. Drazek Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016. Lisa has a BS in Technical Communication, and two master’s degrees (MDE, MBA), and a PhD.
Prior to academia, Lisa worked for SAP for over a decade in Walldorf, Germany, leading and implementing enterprise-wide knowledge management and training processes and solutions. Lisa’s research interests are in the areas of self-determined learning (heutagogy), online collaborative learning, pedagogical application of web 2.0 technology and social media, and user interface design.


Ulf-Daniel EhlersUlf-Daniel Ehlers, Prof. Educational Management & LLL, Vice-president EURASHE, Former Vice-President Co-Operative State University Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

Bio: Ulf is a learning innovation expert, founder of, serial entrepreneur, and Professor for Educational Management and Lifelong Learning at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe in 2011.
From 2011-2017 he held the position of Vice President at the same university and has been responsible for Quality and Academic Affairs. He held positions as Associate Professor of University Duisburg-Essen (Germany), Professor for Technology Enhanced Learning of University Augsburg (Germany) and Associate Professor of the Graduate School for Management and Technology of the University of Maryland University College (USA).
Ulf has delivered keynotes and been speaking to audiences in more than 45 countries. He is author of more than 10 books and 150 scholarly articles with over 3000 academic citations. Ulf is a trained coach, facilitator and expert for mindful communication, and holds degrees in English Language, Social Sciences and Education Sciences from the University of Bielefeld, where he finished his Ph.D. with honors in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning in 2003.
He was awarded his habilitation in 2008 from the University of Duisburg-Essen. His writings on Quality in education are internationally awarded.
