University Computing Centre - SRCE is the beneficiary and coordinator of the Project. As the major national infrastructural ICT institution in the area of research and higher education in Croatia, SRCE provides a modern, sustainable and reliable e-infrastructure for the research and education community. This includes computing and cloud services, high performance computing, advanced networking, communication systems and services, middleware, data and information systems and infrastructure. At the same time SRCE, since its foundation in 1971, has acted as the computing and information centre of the largest Croatian university – the University of Zagreb, and is responsible for the coordination of the development and usage of e-infrastructure at the University.
logotip CARNET-a CARNET – Croatian academic and research network was founded in 1991 as a project of the Ministry of Education with the objective to improve society as a whole using new information technologies. Its mission is the development of advanced information and communication infrastructure for academic and research community, including a fast and secure network, variety of facilities and services. CARNet is a public institution that today operates under the Ministry of Science and Education in the field of information and communication technologies and its application in education from network and Internet infrastructure through e-services, to security and user support. It services are available to educational institutions (from K-12 to higher education, including research centers and institutes) and individual users alike.

The Ruđer Bošković Institute is the main scientific institution in Croatia in the field of natural and biomedical science, and research in field of maritime and environment. Today, over 300 scientists and researchers in over 80 laboratories are engaged in research in theoretical and experimental physics, chemistry and physics of materials, electronics, physical and organic chemistry and biochemistry, molecular biology and medicine, the sea and the environment, information technology and computing, and laser and atomic research and development.

The Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek is almost three centuries old, and in its present legal form was established 1975. It has 16 scientific-educational units, 1 art-educational unit, 3 infrastructure institutes and 1 company (Tehnologijsko-razvojni centar Osijek d.o.o.). In its Development Strategy, the University identified R&D&I as one of the priorities (establishment of scientific centers of excellence, institutes, Science and Technology Park “Technopolis”, transfer of technology).

The University of Rijeka was established in 1973; it has 11 faculties, 4 university departments, several companies (among them Science Technology Park STEP RI) and other units. Especially relevant in context of this Project are Scientific development centers at University. Its development Strategy emphasis importance of further development and investment in RDI and international scientific cooperation. University actively cooperates with economy and partners on community development.

The University of Split, established in 1974, is the most significant scientific and educational institution in the region. It has 14 faculties, 1 art academy and 3 university departments and several institutions and research units. Its main aim in the RDI sector is the improvement of knowledge for the industrial, economic, social and cultural development of society in order to improve quality of life. The University is the main institution carrying out research HE and transfer of knowledge and technology to the business community and society in general in the region.

The University of Zagreb is the oldest and largest university in Croatia, and in terms of academic activity and research, the leading university. As such, it has a special role and responsibility for maintaining and improving the national intellectual, scientific and cultural heritage and strengthening international recognition and attractiveness of Croatian HE and science. The University has 31 faculties, 3 academies and 6 legal entities (such as Student centres), one of which is SRCE. The University has a Centre for Research, Development and Technology Transfer (CRDTT) which provides support to research groups at the University in securing funds for research and development as well as in the management of research projects. It also helps research groups and partners from the business sector to establish collaboration initiatives in technology development and the commercialization of intellectual property.
