13. 6. 2025.

The Digital Curation Centre (DCC) at the University of Edinburgh and SRCE as the local partner are pleased to announce the 20th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC26), which will take place in Zagreb, from 16 to 18 February 2026.

This marks the first time that IDCC will be held in Croatia. IDCC is a renowned forum that brings together data curators, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from various disciplines and sectors to explore the latest developments in digital curation policy and practice.

The theme of IDCC26 is:
“AI, Austerity and Authoritarianism: Contemporary Challenges in Digital Data Preservation and Stewardship.”
It highlights the influence of today’s societal forces in an era shaped by shifting financial landscapes, rapid technological changes, and increasing pressure on academic freedom. While acknowledging the financial and political challenges of the current climate, the theme also invites optimism through examples of resilience and resistance in digital curation activities.

The call for contributions is now open:

Papers, Lightning Talks, and Posters: submission deadline 11 July 2025

Workshops: submission deadline 25 July 2025

You are invited to submit in the following categories:

Papers – Extended presentations of research or practice offering significant findings or insights that advance the field

Lightning Talks – Brief talks presenting work in progress, experimental ideas, or lessons learned from completed projects

Posters – A visual and interactive format to showcase your research, tools, or workflows

Workshops – Hands-on sessions offering training or collaborative exploration, often led by community experts or project teams

Submission guidelines, instructions, and evaluation criteria are available on the Digital Curation Centre’s website.
