SRCE participated on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the 6th UNIZG IT MeetUp, focused on the topic “Digital Security”. The event addressed online scams with an emphasis on students as potential victims of fraud.

Mijo Đerek, Head of the Sector for Intermediary Systems and Information Security, gave a presentation titled “Cybersecurity from SRCE’s Perspective: What Students Need to Know.”

He highlighted SRCE’s services for students and emphasized that SRCE pays special attention to ensuring these services are cyber-secure. Users can rely on SRCE services knowing that SRCE takes particular care of the cybersecurity of its systems and infrastructure, Đerek stressed in his presentation.

A roundtable discussion was also held, during which experts on internet fraud discussed the most common types of online scams and the most effective ways to protect against them.

The roundtable concluded that online scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, targeting a growing number of people through manipulation in order to obtain their personal data. At the same time, classic hacker attacks on infrastructure have not disappeared. The European Union has recognized this threat and issued a directive to member states to raise the level of cybersecurity.
