9. 7. 2025.

On Friday, 6 June 2025, the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek marked its 50th anniversary and celebrated 318 years of higher education in Osijek with a formal session of the University Senate.

During the ceremonial session, the University presented awards and recognitions to distinguished individuals and institutions. On this occasion, the University Computing Centre of the University of Zagreb (SRCE) was awarded the Charter of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek as a public acknowledgment for its outstanding contribution to the University's teaching and research activities. Ivan Marić, Director of SRCE, attended the celebration and accepted the award.

Since its establishment, SRCE has continuously supported all Croatian universities. Its long-standing and fruitful cooperation with the University of Osijek has been further strengthened through the HR-ZOO project, which led to the launch of the HR-ZOO-OS data centre, located at the University’s Osijek campus.

It is also important to note that on 29 April 1971, the University of Zagreb Senate held a session in Osijek, during which then-Rector Ivan Supek signed the founding decision for SRCE. This date is officially celebrated as SRCE Day.

SRCE plays a key role in supporting Croatian universities in their digital transformation, by providing advanced digital services and infrastructure, as well as a comprehensive support system for education and training of teachers, staff, and students in the use of new technologies. It also fosters knowledge transfer and expertise in the field of information and communication technologies in higher education and science.
