From 28th to 30th March the University Computing Centre (SRCE) is organizing the Srce DEI 2023 conference, which is also the final conference of the national strategic project Croatian Scientific and Educational Cloud (HR-ZOO). The conference will be held on the premises of the Mozaik Event Center and the University Computing Centre.

Conference programme includes 13 workshops that will be held during the first day, two keynotes, and ten thematic sessions during which more than 30 lectures will be held, together with 28 poster presentations that will be displayed during the entire duration of the conference.
After the opening ceremony on the second day of the conference, the first invited lecturer, Dr. Eng Lim Goh, one of the leading HPC and AI visionaries, vice-president, and CTO of Advanced Computing and AI at Hewlett Packard Enterprise will deliver a keynote on "Data Edge-to-Cloud: Key Disruptions from AI". In his lecture, Dr. Goh will talk about the importance of supercomputers and artificial intelligence, their peculiarities, and the benefits they bring to the implementation of scientific research. Special emphasis will be on the relationship between advanced computing and artificial intelligence and how these two areas develop together, the differences and similarities between them, and how one affects the other.
Giorgio Rossi, professor of physics at the Università degli Studi di Milano and representative of Italy in the EOSC Steering Board, will give a second keynote on the third day with the topic „The challenge of digitalization of research: interoperability of research infrastructures and access to FAIR data for exploiting automated research workflows”. He will talk about the role that the key elements of open science, namely FAIR data and data services for research, have within EOSC, and what their role is in strengthening the interoperability of research infrastructures.
Srce DEI 2023 conference is also the final conference of the Croatian Scientific and Educational Cloud project, and during the first day, we will formally mark the launching of the new generation of HR-ZOO national e-infrastructure. During the second day, we will present new services built on HR-ZOO resources.
On the third day of the conference, we are organizing a national tripartite meeting of the European Open Science Cloud – EOSC, as a mandated organization of the Republic of Croatia. At this event, we will gather representatives from the European Commission, the EOSC Association and the EOSC Steering Committee, the Ministry of Science and Education, and representatives from the HR-OOZ Council. The meeting aims to discuss national priorities, specific needs, and concrete actions for the implementation of EOSC. During this part of the programme, we will also present the progress in the establishment of the Croatian Open Science Cloud (HR-OOZ).
Thematic sessions that form the programme are "Catalogue of HR-ZOO services", "Micro- credentials in higher education", "Improvements in student administration", "e-Universities", "Quantum communications", "Scientific publishing and Hrčak", "Information support for mobility in Europe", "Digital accessibility for a better learning experience" and "CroRIS and Scientific Technology Foresight".
