A scientific colloquium on cybersecurity was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb on Tuesday, 23 September. The event brought together more than 45 participants from academia, businesses and state institutions, including members of university management, IT departments and teaching staff, ensuring a diversity of perspectives and experience.

After the opening remarks by Dean of FER Prof. Mirko Bilas, Assoc. Prof. Stjepan Groš delivered a presentation titled "Challenges of Establishing Cybersecurity in Academic Institutions". He highlighted the specific characteristics of the academic environment that complicate the application of standard security solutions and emphasized the importance of cooperation. He proposed the establishment of a Croatian ISAC (Information Sharing and Analysis Center), modeled on REN-ISAC in the United States, first as an informal and later as a formal platform for sharing information and experiences.

This was followed by a presentation by Ivan Marić, Director of SRCE, and Mijo Đerek, Head of the Department for Intermediary Systems and Information Security at SRCE, titled "Cybersecurity at SRCE". They presented the complexity and mission of SRCE, emphasized the wide range of services it provides and shared insights and guidelines in the field of security.

The scientific colloquium enabled a dynamic discussion in which participants exchanged challenges, questions and proposed solutions, with special attention given to future activities and the development of cooperation. It was concluded that this type of gathering is extremely necessary.
