SRCE traditionally participates in the international Open Education Week

6. 3. 2026.

SRCE is joining the celebration of the global initiative of the international Open Education Week this year as well. The event officially lasts from March 2 to 6, 2026, but the organizers encourage organizing activities until the end of March 2026.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2 PM, we are organizing a webinar: "Libraries in the Digital Transformation of Education – Role and Examples of Practice".
The webinar explores the role of libraries in the digital transformation of higher education, highlighting their support for contemporary teaching and learning models. The digital platform for library services in the cloud Alma/Primo VE will be presented, which facilitates access to digital resources and the integration of library services into the teaching process and enables the application of generative artificial intelligence for learning and research needs.

Participants will also see examples of collaboration between librarians and teachers in preparing classes, from selecting digital sources to developing students' digital competencies and support for independent and collaborative learning. The webinar shows how libraries today act as key partners in creating a flexible and digitally supported educational environment.
The webinar is intended for teachers and librarians, primarily in the higher education system and for all interested parties.

Open Education Week is a global initiative that has been organized since 2012 with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of open education and its impact on contemporary ways of learning around the world, and SRCE has been actively joining this international initiative for 12 years already. SRCE actively encourages the systematic application of open education principles, the development and application of open educational content and open educational practices in higher education institutions.
