The OpenCode.HR digital platform was launched in production in early 2026 as a national infrastructure for the collaborative development and sharing of open-source code within the academic and research community in Croatia. It was established as part of an initiative coordinated by SRCE, with the participation of the initial members who recognized the need for a shared platform for developing and sharing open-source software. The initiative is open to all institutions within the science and higher education sector, fostering broader collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of shared software solutions.
The OpenCode.HR digital platform was established at the initiative of the following institutions:
- University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (SRCE), coordinator of the OpenCode.HR initiative
- University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), member of the OpenCode.HR Initiative Council
- University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), member of the OpenCode.HR Initiative Council
- Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology (FERIT), member of the OpenCode.HR Initiative Council
