Croatian Competence Center for High Performance Computing (HR HPC CC)

Croatian Competence Center for High Performance Computing (HR HPC CC) is the place where users from the academic and scientific community, industry and public administration can get access to innovative solutions adapted to different groups of users, i.e., their needs and requirements. The Center contributes to strengthening existing and developing new competencies in the area of High Performance Computing, and it is the central national place where users can receive support in the area of HPC, High Performance Data Analytics - HPDA and Artificial Intelligence – AI.

Thanks to many years of experience and cooperation with numerous partners on the development of national distributed computing infrastructures, in 2019 SRCE obtained the mandate from the Ministry of Science and Education to establish a national consortium of the National Competence Centers in the Framework of EuroHPC (EuroCC) project. Participants in the project, as related third parties of SRCE, were: University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Split Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split (FESB), Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology in Osijek (FERIT), University of Rijeka (UNIRI), University of Rijeka Faculty of Engineering (RITEH) and Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB). The EuroCC project was implemented from 1 September 2020 to 31 December 2022, and its continuation, National Competence Centers in the framework of EuroHPC Phase 2 - EuroCC 2, began on 1 January 2023.

HR HPC CC was established as part of the network of national competence centers for high performance computing in 33 member states of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU).

More information about the activities of the Croatian Competence Center for HPC are available on the center's website and on the website of SRCE service Consulting and support in the development of competencies for high performance computing.
