Applications are now open for participation in the program of the international conference EGI 2024

The international conference EGI2024 will be held in Lecce, Italy, from September 30th to October 4th, 2024. The annual EGI conference brings together numerous stakeholders from scientific and data-intensive computing communities, providing an opportunity to exchange results, insights, and trends on technical, policy, and business perspectives, advancing the science of big data for the academic and industrial sectors.

Interested participants can apply to present either a 10 or 20-minute talk, a poster presentation, or a 30-minute presentation to showcase their service, product, or tool. The deadline for submissions is April 25, 2024.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics divided into five thematic areas: Needs and Solutions in Scientific Computing, Data Innovations, Environmental Informatics, Trust and Security, and EOSC and Open Science. A detailed list of topics is available on the conference website.

SRCE has been actively involved in the activities of the EGI Foundation since 2010 when it was founded on February 8th in Amsterdam as EGI.eu, a non-profit organization aimed at coordinating and managing the European grid infrastructure (EGI) established for the needs of the European research community. SRCE participates in management, strategy development, and construction plans, actively contributing to building the world's largest distributed infrastructure for scientific computing while promoting and ensuring Croatian researchers access to EGI resources and services.

SRCE, as a partner, and the EGI Foundation, as a coordinator, have participated in numerous projects funded under the EU Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs, with ongoing projects such as EOSC-Future (2021-2024) and EOSC Beyond: Advancing Innovation and Collaboration for Research (2024-2027).
